Hey guys i had a couple questions regarding my heads rockers etc.1 will 1.7's work with the e303?2. I had the heads ported to 1.94 and 1.60... should i need bigger injectors?... and would it be a good idea for 1.7's with that cam and heads?...

Did you have stock heads ported and the valves upgraded or are these GT40 or other aftermarket heads?

At any rate you will probably be at about the max HP for 19s so going to 24s would be a good thing.

If you gave me a E303 and $500 bucks I would tell you to keep your money cause no way in hell would that cam go in my car. Look at the Steeda #18 it's made to run with 1.7s and your car actually will idle properly and have good driveablity. It also sounds good to boot.

There is only one e-cam and it gets passed around like a hooker. Once you have it you realize how bad it really is and wish you would have saved up for a nicer model.

In all seriousness that cam makes a good paperwieght.

Go with the Steeda #18 then. It's designed for your 1.7s and will get you about all the power your going to get out of stock ported heads.

I was looking at the size of gr40s and my ported heads aren't to much bigger and they use the 19s...so i was hopeing maybe i could get a fuel pressure regulator and bump it up alil...i say this because i just bought a set of 19s and a 76mm maf to boot...could that be a way around the 24s?...or am i asking for trouble?

You are just going to be right on the edge of what 19s can support. My dad and a good friend both ran similar setups with 19s and their cars ran fine with them. If you had access to a dyno with a wide band that would tell you if are too lean or not. Adding fuel pressure can make the injector act as a larger injector. The problem is that the computer will have a hard time dealing with it. It's kind of like running 24s with a mass air meter that's calibrated for 19s.

If I were in your shoes I would stick it together with the 19s and see how it does.

I used to run 1.7 exhaust and 1.6 intake rockers years ago on an e cam. It didn't do bad. Also, I ran the same cam in a 347.

Nowadays, camshafts have come a long way. Its always better to either build around a particular cam or have a cam made for your specific combo. Kinda takes the guess work out.

The specs I see for the N41 is .512 with 1.6s or .544 with 1.7s. Anderson rates that cam for 2600-6200 RPMs. I'm not anything remotely close to a expert on cams, but wouldn't run that cam with stock ported heads with 1.7s because I think it will make it a dog below 3000 RPMs.

A good friend of mine ran the #18 in his '93 and my brother ran the #19 (115 LCA for '94-'95s) in his '95 GT. Both those cars had the small Edelbrock heads (1.9/1.6 valves) and 1.7 rockers. Both of the cars had good idle and driveabilty.

I stopped that cycle long ago. The E-Cam is in my spare motor in the back of my rental storage unit...

I may or may not have said cam advertised on Craigslist though, which may or may not have caused the revival of interest in E-Cams.

Hey guys, is kinda funny listening to all the tech talk, I used to build my own engine's and raced every weekend. Also built and raced Harleys until I was hit by a drunk, I have several big block engines sitting in my backyard shop, also have few 302's and 351's. I love my Ford engines. Now, at 80, can't do the work I used to and never got to finish some of my best projects but still play with my toys as I can. I have a 89 Saleen with 12,950 orig mi sitting in there, never drive, as I have a cripple left leg and it's a 5 speed. Am not good on this machine but will try to load a pic of my two engine (351C's) 67 fastback. Cheers, Harry
