1/8th mile?

Dont expect much, hahaha.

The first time I ran at the track I was expecting low low 14's. I ran 14.98.

My 1/8th mile times were like 9.7 at best, hahaha.

My 2nd time around last week I got down to a 9.1 1/8th, still with more left in it.

Your car is capable of being in the upper (not high) 8s when you get the driving aspect down id say.

well id say if you did everything correct and got a decent 60' like around 2.0 or less than you should run in teh mid 8s or atleast mid to high 8s.

just practice on those 60's thats what will get you the low times.

If your on a street radial then keep the rpms low...under 3000.....but if you have the DR's then you can launch harder........I think about 8.7's are the best you will see with a radial without weight loss.......my car weighs 3150 with me in it and ran a 7.99 with a MT DR.........I think I am one of the few to hit 7's with the stock long block and full rims......but throw in some litening parts and watch those times drop quickly!

I did 9.025 on a second run and it was the first time my car was ever at the track. That was with the clutch slipping and my friend driving my car. Unfortunately i was suppose to race my own car but i let him take my car to the track early and he left me his cobra, but i showed up late that day at the track to race my own car. I have street tires on top of everything, 18 wheels, saleen light bar, spare tire, and its a vert on top of everything.

could u elaborate on lightening parts? i was wanting to make my car lighter to improve the handling and driveability all together. what can be done?

Well if you have a full exhaust system you save about 30-50 lbs compared to the stock set up. depending on what setup you got of course. Their is also the rear seat delete kit, carbon fiber hood, lighter wheels (steeda), etc.

i ran a 9.40 my first run. second run i bogged on the start and ran like a 9.7. third run completely missed second and ran over 10. but 9.40 isnt horrible for the first time at a track ever is it? this is also without the 4.10's in my sig cuz those go in tomorrow. also, when i missed 2nd i accidently revved really hard cuz it stayed in neutral, but it stopped at a certain point. is that the rev limiter? will that stop me from hurting the engine?

60' was a marvelous 2.54. i cant figure out how to launch. if i could i'm sure i could get around a 9.0 or lower ET. the mph was 82.3. i'm trapping like 5 mph higher than guys i was losing to which makes me think the car is faster cuz i gain on them i just need to learn to launch so i'm not behind in the first place.

I am sure with a little practice you can get your 60 foot time down should be able to run a 9.0 or better.

Well for starters.....a rear seat delete kit will take off about 40-45 lbs......racing seats about 90-120 lbs.....depending on type.....aluminum D/S and remove dogbone about 20 lbs and less rotational mass......front and rear 5 mph crash bumpers.......about 60 lbs total........tubular k-member/arms and coil overs....-90 lbs off the front........LCA's and UCA's and remove quad shocks -20 lbs........ there are alot of parts that can make you lighter and faster.....but weight reduction will really drop your times!

Not too sure if the gears will help actually if you are already having problems with launching the car. Are you spinning or just not getting on it hard from the line?

no i wasnt spinning i wasnt giving it enough when i let the clutch out and i bogged down really bad. i am scared of spinning when i get up to the line. but i just need to forget about it and go for it one time to see how hard i can leave before i spin. plus it was my first time so i was nervous with everyone in the stands and the dude announcing my name and everything. but the gears wont make me spin more cuz spinning isnt my problem.
