Hey have cobra r's in stalled on my 94 cobra mustang, i have been looking to up my rear tires to 17x10.5 with 315/35/ZR17 on the rear, i was wondering if i would need to do any types of modifications so that these woudl fit. I was thinkin that i had to remove those rear struts that are suposed to reduce wheel hop. I was talkin to the master tech at the garage i work at and he said that would be a bad idea, i dno't know if the offset is different when you purchase the bigger rims or not.

Could some one please help me out? Thanks

I "had" the 10.5" wide Cobra R wheels from AFS, and I now have 10.5" wide Chrome Bullitts, with 315/35/17 BFG Drag Radials. I had to loosen and re-postion one tailpipe, and remove the plastic boot from the quad shock. Most people simply reverse (or "flip") the quad shocks on their mounts for clearance. MY car is also lowered using Steeda Sport springs...No issues whatsoever...

i have 10.5's out back with 275's and needed NO modifications at all for them to fit....but with 315's i would suggest flipping the quad shock

Only problem I had with my 10.5's with 315's was the tailpipe and I had to flip the quad shocks. Also I had to roll the fender lip to keep from cutting the new tires. But I also have mine lowered 2 inches. I imagine if you are now lowered then that would not be a problem.

I put mine on and never had to do anything. I finally took my quad shocks off when I got my control arms installed.
