The proof is in the pudding, big boy nitrous is some serious business! Could you imagine what would happen to a motor that was just willy nilly thrown together with that much nitrous?we order pistons 10 at a time and right now we are playing the waiting game since we melted 2 pistons on back to back passes this season. missing the race saturday because of it

i get what you are saying about the stock block lol but they are plentiful and cheap i have 3 already 30 overI think your goals are easily achievable with a power adder (nitrous). They can also be achieved n/a but at a much great expense! I personally would not be buying an off the shelf cam for that motor and would look to a custom grid once you have nailed down your head selection (Trickflow FTW). Understand that forged internals are great but you will be at the limit of your stock block, girdle or not. I have personally seen motors of this nature last many seasons deep in the tens and have also seen them last several passes before they are flower pots. (just food for thought) If you do decide to go the nitrous route understand that it can be very safe. This requires a considerable learning curve. For the most part a smaller shot 125-150 is forgiving, but only to an extent. We live in reality and Fast and Furious is far from that. A 300 shot or 250 for that matter is very serious business and is NOT forgiving. Either way I would recommend hours of research from reputable sources or seeking professional help in setting it up. Ask srtthis, pistons become a hot commodity and they keep several spares as far a I know.
If you do decide to try and attain this N/A then you will be spinning this motor higher rpm wise and will certainly need a very nice top end to support it. Let us know where you think you're going with the build. Pictures too, we all like pictures here!
id like a custom cam but ed curtis seems to be the best but cant find a phone num for fti and im not spending 400 on a cam unless i can talk to someone
we are spraying more then your motor will make NA.. i'll leave it at thathow much you spraying
Lets see if I can picture book this story:

I would rather be blown, how much you spraying
but have played with more than my fair share of nitrous cars. In the past we have run up to 350 through a single system and a progressive. A friend of mine has a car with a sbc on two stages 200 out the gate and another 250 a hair over a second out.
I will say that my engine builder had a nitrous promod motor in his shop a while back that totally blew my mind. Billet block, billet heads, billet intake runners, etc. That motor was plumbed for 5 stages. yes 5 stages. 2 foggers in the upper runner, 2 foggers in the lower runner and a plate system under the split carbs. He would not divulge how much nitrous exactly but over 1000 hp worth easily. According to him the first stage is on before the clutch is all the way out leaving the line..![]()
