12" subwoofer help

To get my Phoenix Gold 12's to fit in my 95, I had to remove the Mach460 enclosure from under the rear deck. If memory serves me correctly, there's only 14 inches from the trunk floor to the underside of the Mach enclosure, so it's a tight squeeze. If you can build a box yourself, it's definitely doable. I had to take the rear seats out to get the box to fit in from the inside, as it wouldn't go through the trunk opening. I used a standard sealed box that I got at Best Buy, so other manufacturers' boxes may vary. I've since removed them and put the Mach enclosure back, since I value my hearing and two 12 inch subs is damn loud in the interior of a small car. :rlaugh:

I had a ported bandpass box I bought from Circuit City years ago.I put 2 10" Polk subs in.I had to do what StangGT did, take the back seat out.The box just "BARELY" fit through.I thought it was loud with my Alpine Amp.But compared to most sound systems, the bass loudness just never cut it.It was pretty low.And after I put the box in,the back 6x8's sounded like sh**.The subs couldn't breathe well..neither could the 6x8's because of the box taking up the air space.

I could never get any good loud bass out of this car. That's the only thing that sucks about Mustangs. No room for boom.

i have one L5 10 inch and this thing messes up my vision, cant see why you would need more than maybe one 12L5.my kenwood 1904 class D amp pushes the snot out of this woofer.its very responsive, hits real deep, and hard and sound quality is great.on some songs it feels like someone is punching you in the back.
