I've done many searches on here for the "cobra/bullitt" brake conversion kits. There were 2 main places to buy them. SpeedConcepts, which I heard takes FOREVER to get in and buyfordparts or something. But the one from buyfordparts looks to have nasty rotors. Anywhere else I can go to buy front brake coversion kits for under $450?

Interesting, I just hate how the rotors it comes with are disgusting...

Is there anywhere I can "build" all the pieces I need? For example, instead of an "all-in-one" kit, I would SEPERATLY purchase the bullitt calipers, 13" brembo slotted rotors, banjo bolts, and stainless steel lines?

Also, if I were to build my own kit, will I notice a dramatic difference if I go normal Brembo rotors to slotted or drilled?

Secondly, why are the cobra calipers $200 and the special edition bullitt ones $300? Aren't they the same calipers just with different emblems?! Can't I just paint over the "COBRA" lettering??

Just spend the cash and get the brembo brakes with slots or dilled you will be a lot happier with the performance you get from them. If you go the cheap route your not gona get the performance you would from the other kit. Plus with brembo they give you everything you need with "clean" rotors

I used StangSupsension to price out a new front end brake set. Is this all I need:

Ford Racing Cobra Front Calipers - For 94-04 Mustangs $209.95
Ford Racing Banjo Bolts for Front Calipers $11.50
Ford OEM Cobra Front Brake Hoses - For 94-04 Mustangs $39.95
Brembo Front OEM Replacement Rotors - For 94-04 Cobra $142.00
RED VHT Caliper & Brake Drum Paint - 1 can $10.95

Subtotal: $414.35| Checkout

I bought pony caliper decals on ebay. Is this all I need? I normally wouldn't ask 100 questions, but when it comes to my brakes, I get a tad nervous. :bang:

yes, the Brembo kit would be nice...BUT!!!! The $1000 price tag hurts me...$420 for the bare is nice. :)

15% improvement by buying cobra caliper/brake pads and brembo 13" rotors? For some reason, I don't believe you. The brembo kit is basically what I'm getting. I'm buying brembo rotors. It just doesn't say "BREMBO" on the calipers and the rotors arent slotted and drilled.

You are not gettin a brembo kit. If you were getting the same results everyone would do what your doing. Its expensive for a reason. The calipe design the quality of rotors and calipers the lines. I think the brembo kit is either 4 or 6 piston caliper which stops a lot better then the 2 piston. But hey its your money

Understood. Then why is the cobra kit $750 and the Brembo kit $1000 if for the extra $250 you get a massive improvement?

Has anyone gone from a cobra caliper to brembo and felt a significant difference?

Not quite sure if the difference maybe a lifetime warrenty with brembo i dunno? it could also be they use better parts or give you extra parts does the cobra kid from with braided lines?

No, I don't think so. *sigh* You are killin me here bro! Makin me rethink my whole *****. $1,100 for just a front brake kit is insane cash just for 2 brakes. Also, I'm not tracking, simply street driving. I THINK the 2 piston calipers are more than enough for street braking.

Lol nah keep your idea i was just trying to give you differnt aspects. Im not saying the cobra kit is **** thats not the case at all. I was just saying there is a just cause for the prices. I think you will def. be more then happy with the cobra kit. I added only cross drilled rotors to mine and i was happy with that. like you said im not a track person i just like knowing the brakes are there when i need them. Good luck

Yep just stuck with the stock, the only racing i do is street racing which is even rare now a days i just wanted something for when i hit a windy road and get on it i didn't want them to fade away. I didn't need new rotors but i had the stock ones fade on me so thats why i swapped rotors

i almost sprung for the 4 piston kit myself. but got the front and rear bullit kit w/brembo slotted/drilled rotors for less so i went with it. The brakeing improvement was significant compared to the stock 1 piston! And the looks are sweet too. I would love to have gotten the bigger 4 piston but it would have been overkill on my car and a waste of money.
