14" wheels on an Explorer 8.8?

I have looked and looked so if I missed this I am sorry. I can't find a definitive answer. Will 14" disc brake wheels (from a Granada) fit the 8.8 Explorer rear calipers? With up to 1/2" spacers? If those don't work, can I use Aerostar or Ranger 14" wheels? I want to put a shortened Explorer 8.8 in my '66 and use 14" wheels and Pony caps. If I can't use 14" wheels, what period correct factory 15" wheel will fit in a '66 and clear the rear calipers? Thanks!

It appears that they will. I have some steel 14" disc brake wheels, some from a '78 Granada and some from an early '80s LTD. I put a wheel on and there is plenty of clearance above the caliper, the issue may be between the caliper and inside face with new pads. It's close enough that I think it can work without a spacer but if a spacer is required I think a 1/8 will be enough.
