Anybody know what this connector is for? Located just above the transmission at the firewall. Also, anyone know if the connector can be disassembled and replaced without changing the harness?

Can you see what color wires are going into the connector? Also, where does the thing it plugs into go?

This is for a 2002, but maybe similar:

I need to see which color wires and what holes they plug in on engine wiring harness that control fuel injectors, coils, etc. It has 25 to 30 pins. I shall provide you with the engine wiring diagram in 3 parts. (best viewed with Chrome or Firefox) Engine Wiring Diagram 2002 Ford Mustang GT

I will have to pull some of the wiring loom back to get a real good look at every colour on it, but that wiring diagram looks like it would really make things easier figuring out what it even does exactly.
Thanks for finding that

It would also help to know exactly how many of those pins are actually populated. I also just got the Chilton manual which has wiring diagrams as well.

I assume you are looking to replace it due to the broken clip? You can probably find a way to secure it without the clip (electrical tape or wire tie). But I understand the desire to have it be right. Those clips are a pain, never seems like I am pulling the right way to get them off, then they are so brittle from being baked in the engine compartment, they snap off. I have never had much luck finding OEM electrical connectors. If you get a new connector, you'd want a pin removal tool that could let you slide the pins out the back of the connector so that you could slide them into the new connector. If you get a used connector that has been cutoff, you could splice each wire.

Someone is selling one on ebay, but it had a nice pic of the whole harness. I think you can see that connector just above and to the right of the center of the picture.

So it looks like 13 of the 16 pins are used, unfortunately the motor at a shop I am borrowing the space in elsewhere while I tear it down, so I have to plan my trips and what to look for.
