Guys....does anyone know the if a 17' GT will automatically advance timing if running 93 octane?
I'm told Camaros and Corvettes are set to run on 93 octane, but if lower octane is detected, it will automatically retard timing.
Not sure if that's how the GTs are set up. All i know is the manual says it's OK to run 87 octane, and wondered if the electronics would advance timing if 93 is detected.

Thanks in advance for any comments !

Not 100% sure but I think they do. The advertised 435 hp is rated using 91 octane or better. You can run 87 is you choose, just know it will have decreased hp output, probably around 410-415 range. The original coyote's back in 11-12 were rated at 412 hp but only gave 395 on 87 octane. The 13-14 model had 420 on 91, but on 87 only had 400.
