Im wanting to run fr500 wheels on my 68 coupe, will a 17x9 fit in the front and if so what would I have to do to make them fit? Spacer size?

Im not wanting to narrow anything or alter the suspension other than some 620# springs and shelby drop.

Search for "17x9", lots of threads on it. But in a word, no.

Will they fit in the front? The OP asked that in the original post. I know that 17x8 are tight on the UBJ on my 70, I have the
Shelby drop and am using a 1" hubcentric spacer.

I might just have to give up on running fr500's. I know there was a guy that had them but the front set were narrowed to 8 inches. Unless I could get a good deal on some, the cost of that would make it not worth it.

I thought about buying 4 17x10.5 deep dish wheels. If my math is correct, with a 6.8" backspacing and having them narrowed to 8 inches would give me a new backspacing of 4.3, This is close to 4.5" of backspacing but is it close enough or will it stick out too far?

Ohh hell you got me on a low reading comprehension day.

I can not definitively say they fit the front, only the rear

I though of doing that too (too tired to check your math so I'm not saying you're right), but the cost of having someone do that plus the time I'd have to wait to ship my wheels to and from the guy, who was questionable in his return times in the first place, just to gain .5" wheel width wasn't worth it. I went with 18x7.5 with an adapter. Maybe someday when I save up some bucks and have the time to wait for them I'll buy another pair and have that done. Buying one that already fits without adapters is boring because there's only so many to choose from and most of them are ugly IMO.
