I vote 20's, the s197 looks like a pig sitting on four milk duds with a rim smaller than 19. One time I saw a s197 on 18's and I thought they were 16's utill I read the tires. Most of the tuner mustangs (saleen, steeda, ect...) have 20's, the oem manufactuers are making wheel wells huge nowadays. I think 19's and 20's are perfect for that body. Over 20 on a s197 then you're in donk and whip land.

no offense on the windveil comments, gunmetal/charcoal rims set the color off just right. it's just nothing's as sinister as black, especially not powder blue

18's all day. Or better yet, go 19's with a forged rim if you can afford it.

Here is mine with 18's.

I personally don't like black wheels on any car. It always looks as though the persons running 4-spare tires to me, or they look like a set of wheels someone was just too lazy to clean the brake dust off of.......but hey, it's your ride.

I only like black wheels with a chrome or polished lip.

It depends on the lip of the black wheel. If it doesn't have a polished lip then it does look like 4 spare tires.

I had 18" deep dish anthracite bullitts on my car and took them off for some black ones. I absolutely love black deep dish bullitts, they have made my car. The black mags really make the polished lip stand out.

Looks better on a black car but I love the look on any color car for that matter. I will put them on my next mustang.

To answer the question truthfully, you must know if you want a really low profile tire or one with meat, do you want the car slammed or just a mild drop? I personaly love an 18" with the meaty tire in the back for that "raked" look. I will be dropping mine in the next month or so with more drop in the front than the back to go along with the taller tire in the back to get an exagerated rake. I can agree that 20s do look at home on the S197 over previous years, but I don't care for that much wheel.

i'll have to agree on this, but on the other hand I like seeing a side wall on tires so over all i[d lean towards 18's.

I'm selling my stock 18 inch Bullits for a set of Toxic Defiance 20X9 fronts with Nitto 555 255-35's and 20X10 rears with Nitto 285-35's...I like my Mustang slammed so it could handle the twisties...Just like my old LX 5.0...
