I am just starting to get to the planning of the interior of my Indy Pace car and have a few questions. I have looked at as many pictures of interiors for the pace cars and have noticed variations. Does anyone have a few pictures of the correct Indy car 42 interior? A few of the variations I have seen are on the steerign wheel and the dash.

The car is in the body shop right now being torn down and restored, I can't wait to be able to post pictures. Have a good day

As I remember, the pace cars were available with the standard interior as well as the "Pony" interior option. The pony option includes a wood grain dash & steering wheel, running horse seats and deluxe paded door panels with upscale hardware. A little research is in order here.

Thanks Gt, I thought all of the pace cars were indentically optioned. Do you recall where you saw that there were different interiors? Thanks again.

I don't see how the Pace Car could have had a deluxe "pony" interior. The "pony" was introduced in the spring of 1965, a year after the Pace Cars were built.

The pace cars had the standard interior, only the Pace Car White and exterior decals were unique on the Pace Cars.

What you need is photos of the Pacec Cars when they were new. Here ya go:
