1965 Mustang Diff Question

Hi I was wondering if there might be any knowledgable Mustang gurus out there that would know if a standard (factory) 1970 Mustang diff would go on a 1965 stang (all factory running gear)? I am pretty sure they are both 8 3/4" diffs haven't seen a 1970 one to compare first hand. Thanks for any info and help much appreciated.

do you mean the chunk, the entire axle assembly, or what?

The chunks came in 8" and 9" versions for the V8. They are interchangable from one axle housing to another with equivalent axle spline counts (28 or 31)(8 for 8, 9 for 9), but the housings got wider from 65 to 70.

The guy selling it was just saying no axles, but it sounds like a reasonable price and I am a little limited to good quality spares here in Australia. Thanks for the info Mate much appreciated
