how much space is between the top of the intake and the hood?

the reason i ask is because i want to use a super vic intake and a efi elbow on top of that in my 66 with a 3" cowl hood. the elbow is under 6.5" so im kinda thinking it will be close. the car doesnt have a engine in it or i would measure myself. thanks.
