When you say all motor, perhaps you can define what it was in more detail?

Seems odd to go from one of those to a 514 for very little difference in e/t

I don't know if I can say this without being an ass, but...

If you don't even know where to buy the tubing, you don't have a clue how to build a chassis. Don't fool yourself. Your lack of knowledge in previous posts shows that you are new to this, especially to mustangs and racecars. You did however say that money wasn't much of an issue, but it will be by the time you get this monster built. I don't care if you had a nine second honda or not, there is a completely different set of rules that apply when working with a big block rear wheel drive car, especially if you want it to be safe. But, from what I can gather from your previous posts, you don't really know what you want. Get real. Get a clue. If you really want such a car, buy one already built by a professional.

No not the 8 mile.. It was the 1/4 mile.. Ran 9.13, allmotor lsvtec 2.3 litter 267 horsepower with 207 torgue..

just wait till he gets the monster up and running and takes it to the track and mashes the gas. be riding a wheelie 1.2 way down the track!

that car must have weighed about 600 lbs to run a 9.13 in the 1/4mile with such miniscule power. Hell man, drop the 514 into that car, you'd have something that could run low 4's.

I know from previous conversation you don't like power adders, but which were you using in the Integra. Your quote motor HP numbers do not support the ET.

All numbers are of course calculated with no assumed traction loss (meaning perfect math equations that can not account for real world detrimental impacts on E.T.)

Using this:

To convert 9.17 from 1/8 to 1/4 time of 14.34 and then revisiting the previous sites using the curb weight of a stock 2000 integra with driver of 2800 LBS you would see a perfect ET of 12.75 with 267 RWHP and again....perfect traction.

Stock 2000 integra with stock high output motor with enough mods to take the stock rated break horse power of 170 and turn it into RWHP of 180hp nets a calculated 1/4 mile time of 14.5

Anyway...the point is...people can BS all the want I don't care, but as soon as you put a number on it, it can either be supported or proven incorrect. It also has no direct impact on the discussion at hand about putting a 514 in a 65 mustang. And I am sure most member of this (and other forums) are still willing to help you figure out the steps it will take and what needs to be done....just drop the internet annonymous persona crap and lets discuss the real world.

I don't smoke, but I do know when I hear it. If you really got an integra to run low 9's in the 1/4 with such a wimpy engine, hey man, more power to ya. No sense in arguing about it over the net, so I'll let it be. The fact remains, you've got a lot of hours of research to do before you start building a tube chassis, 'glass bodied mustang. Thats not the sort of thing you just casually throw together in your spare time. As far as I know, nobody here has built such a beast either, so take most of what you hear with a grain of salt, nothing against my fellow stangnetters, its just the way I see it.

No offense to the big blocks, I do like 'em. They're just heavier than hell.

PS I stomped the Gambler 514 on the dyno by 80 hp with my boosted SB! I was only about 15 ft lbs better in torque!

The difference is that most of us know, from first hand experience what's REALLY involved, and the more you know, the more realistic you are.
