I'm working from memory but it's not too hard I don't think. It needs to go in before the wide and narrow grille opening moldings. I think that the grille itself will, using sheet metal screws and in some cases some rather specific retainers (available from most vendors), bolt to the metal supports that the stone deflector attaches to, to the hood latch support, and to the headlight buckets on either side. Then the hood bumpers go in to retain it at the top. After all that's in then the opening moldings will also attach directly to the grille/stone deflector/headlight buckets and stiffen the whole thing up.
