1969 351 w block ?

I removed my intake manafold and on the inside of the block behind the distribtor there is a hole in the block should this hole be there ?

its an oil drain back hole

Just curious, I opened mine up yesterday and saw the same thing. When I rebuild it is it worth making it any bigger to return more oil?

Are you having problems with the amount of oil it's returning now?

It's been 40 years since that hole's been there. If you haven't seen any adverse effects from it being there, leave it be.

I typically just radius the edges and smooth it out to make the flow a little smoother...
