1969 power steering pump id

Why is there a 69 powersteering pump in the car? a pump with a BIG hole means its liek a 65-68 pump or something, 69-70 pumps had the smaller fill hole.........right? It sounds to me liek he went and bought a 67 P/S pump.......and you need a 69-70 pump?

correct, the pump you got was wrong

i would say it was an older style, but it might be newer, both had larger fills.

the 68-69 powersteering pumps have a smaller fill tube. a-lot of them from the parts store don't come with the case, but some do. if you have to swap the case, be careful not to warp the case when your removing it. and when installing the new one, use a little powersteering fluid to lube the new o-ring before installing it.

hope this helps.

as with all parts, the store should have one that looks just like the one r that came off your car, if not, find a different store. napa is always a good store imop.

good luck

sure, one of the mustang places would be better. i was just saying the local place of choice for me is napa. if hi-lo orilieys, auto zone don''t have napa usually does.

if you don't want to deal w/your local auto parts places, mustangman70 is on the money, National Parts Depot is the online place to deal with.

i think the closest to you is flori-dah NPD, 352-861-8700
