Alright... I'm planning a motor build for my 1967 Mustang coupe. I was planning on building my 1978 351W on the cheap (re ring/bearing with stock bottom end), but I'm thinking about looking at a late model 302 (5.0L) because of its stock forged pistons (so i can play with nitrous) and roller cam. Finding a suitable shortblock for cheap that can be freshed shouldn't be a problem. The issue, if you can call it that, is that I picked up a set of 351W heads D00E that have been completely rebuilt with 1.94/1.60 valves, screw in studs, mild port, etc. I'm just curious if there is any piston to valve clearance with this combination, stock cam or not. Does anybody have experience with this? Any other problems that I should be aware of other than the head bolt size difference?
In the long run I plan on building up a beefy bottom end for the 351W... but the lack of funds don't allow that kind of talk nowadays.
Thanks a lot,
Richard
