Hi all!

My father and I purchased a very clean 1982 Mercury Capri 5.0 a few months back. It was running until one day about a month ago, the starter got weak. We converted to the mini-starter and it still won't run.

The previous owner has installed Edelbrock Performer heads, intake manifold, and a big carb along with a cam and lots of other goodies. Fun car!

We figured out that the diaphragm in the fuel pump (Mechanical) was bad and there was some gas in the oil, so it won't start. It cranks all day, but no turning over for this guy!

The new fuel pump is on but as dumb as a question as this sounds, where do we put the new oil because of it having the Edelbrock heads? Factory heads appear to have the filler on the passenger side valve cover, but we have a hose running to a PCV valve in that spot on these heads with no oil cap. Safe to put it down through that spot?

I know that's such a silly question, but we'd love to get this guy running again with no issues.

Thanks!

New parts replaced by us:

--Distributor cap/Rotor
--Starter
--Spark Plugs
--Starter solenoid
--Battery/Cables
--Fuel pump.
