I just picked up my first carbed/manual/5.0/Fox pony a couple of weeks ago - 1984 GT Convertible, 5-speed.
(Just a preface to this question: my speedo cable is gone and my ebrake cable was cut off - a relatively small issue considering the price I paid for the car)
To the left of the dash is a column of lights, which either don't work or just aren't being used. At the right angle and the right light, I can make out that one of these lights is for the e-break and one just says "Shift ^".
1. What do the other lights indicate?
2. Should that "Shift ^" light be coming on? I've near red-lined the thing enough times I should have seen it by now, but I don't know if the speedo is responsible for that or if it's based on RPMs.
