1984 SVO into 1990???

svo

the svo suspension will bolt in front as for the rear the early svo used 7.5 axels with slapper bars then in i believe late 84 early 85 got the quad shocks and 8.8 the axels out of the early 7.5 car i am pretty sure will fit in ur 8.8 in ur car just take all disc brakes if u want the added strength of 8.8 axel an umolested svo has factory konis that are adjustible also strut towers used onion mounts which help keep alignment better if u use the front suspension out of the svo u have to use the control arms bc they have a different taper i believe there is an adapter i have seen it on ebayhope this help if u r in need of a svo i have my old one on ebay as a parts car item 4580443223 i am trying to get 700.00 out of it

Front lower control arms are different...they push the bottom of the wheel out `1/2".. they will look like this /--\. Also, they are not rebuildable to my knowledge. The mustang handbook gives the geometric data.

No svo's had 8.8's, they all had trac-lok 7.5's.....100% positive

I believe the SVO rear is quite a bit wider than your 90 rear. The SVO used wheels with a special goofy offset. A better choice would probably be a turbo-coupe rear. They are 8.8 and come with either 3.55 or 3.73 gears depending if it was an auto or 5-speed. They are still wider but I dont believe they are as wide as the SVO rear.

the later car did get a 8.8, the gt quad shock suspension came from the svo the control arms r from a lincoln con and r readily obtainable from the local junkyard 84 i think had 3.45:1 gears like stated above but very early cars dont have the quad shock setup so that would have to be welded on i have a 86 ford motorsport catalog her and it sells a quad shock kit part # m-4263-a might be discontinued though, and the later cars had 3.73:1
1.25 inches wider each side for a total of 2.5 inches go to mustangsvo.org and u can find more info and i belive a webring
