1986 lx coupe 4 banger swap to 302...

You dont need a new K- member but i THINK you will need a new double hump transmission mount. (i know im going to need one)

This past week i just removed a 2.3L and an auto from an 88LX. If you come across any problems, just pm me and i can help you out.

p.s. have fun with the tranny bolts to the engine :)

thanks....it has a stock 2.3 and 4-speed manual...i'm going to rip it all out in the next few weeks

i'll keep you in mind if i have any problems
 
Trust me, you won't get any love from the 4-banger guys when you ask about swapping a V8. It hurts their precious little egos.

You're good to go with the existing K-member, and unless you plan on going with an '82-'84 spec single exhaust system you will need the double hump trans support.
