ok I have a friend that wants to put a 5spd(T-5) in a 1986 mercury Marquis LTD with a 5.0 in it now he wants to do somthing different and put a 5spd in it or I I can get a deal a c4 tranny with a 2800 stall torque converter. Now what i want to know is how would this be done and what would be done to get it done? This is kinda important because he wants to know if it will be possible so he can buy it. oh and was 1986 a roller block for the LTD's? thanks guys I really appreciate the input

(i assume its one of the foxy-body marquis' and not a grand marquis or a ltd crown vic)

well first of all his car is either a mercury marquis or a ford ltd. secondly, it should go pretty damn easy because its a fox body like the 82-93 stangs. most/all holes to bold on stuff is there also. the 86 i doubt was ar oller block, was it even roller for the stangs? does his car even have the 302 v8? if it does, its rare, which means its probably an LTS or an ex-cop car. i'd have your buddy register on www.ford-fox.org, they know all about the non-stang foxes over there.

and good luck on him fixin up his car, heres a pic of my ltd:

85 was the first year for the roller motor in stangs. i think the marquis was a roller motor too, but am not 100% sure on that.

nice LTD, frink84!
