Hi my name is chris and I am new here. I am working on an 88 GT and it has sat for 17 years. I have gone over the wiring fixing mice chewed ones for new, probably easier to just buy new but my customer is trying to save his money. Anyway I got it running by jumping power to the eec relay, only getting voltage on the ignition wire (1.7volts!) So I am tracing wires and fixing and think I found the issue at the starter solenoid, but there is a connection by there with 3 prongs with Blace/yellow, blue, and Green/red wires. Only the male connector, I found two of the wires cut below, blue and green/red. My question since I cant seem to find this combo anywhere in the schematics is what is this connector for, and If i wire up the wires I found does anyone have any idea where my Black/yellow might be? Thanks so much for any help you can give!

Does your car still have AC in it and is it currently hooked up? Looking at my car the only connector that looks like that is the AC cluch relay harness. Mine only has two wires though. 20181227_203056.jpg 20181227_203025.jpg

Thanks for the reply, yes it has a.c. and I found that wire. This one with 3 pins is a mystery to me, I've looked and looked through all the diagrams I can find and nothing matches. The black/yellow wire is no where to be found. The other 2 are cut, I guess I can hook the 2 up and see what happens LOL

The fuse links for all model years 86-93 live in the wiring harness near the starter solenoid.

Jrichker-Thank you for the diagrams, I have poured over them lol. Ok here is an update of sorts, I still am not sure what the 3 wire connector is. Now after saying that and noticing that when running the alternator doesnt work I noticed that the green/red wire in the 3 wire mystery connector matches what the wiring diagram shows for the alternator wiring. Its currently napa getting tested to see if its good. I hope its bad so I dont have to chase any more wiring hahaha. If its bad I think ill wire up the green/red wire and see if the alternator light will work. As right now its not charging but the light isnt on. Now IF the green/red wire is the alternator wire for the charging light in the dash......wth are the other 2 wires for?? On a good note this thing came in only spinning over and after finding and fixing the mice chewed wiring, the fuel pump wiring that was smashed in between the tank and body and the broken and burnt wiring at the starter solenoid it started! Then i noticed that it had a bad miss and when you revved it up it spit out the intake. I read on here about the spark plug wiring differences between ho and non ho and sure enough it was wired wrong. I wired it for the ho and it is nice and smooth and sounds great. Thanks for all the help!!

Mustang5L5- if you mean a 1 wire alternator, no sir Im pretty sure its stock ford but thanks!

Ok well napa just tested the alternator as good. Watcha think guys? hook up the green/red wire and hope it works? LOL Ive looked at the circuit and the only thing im coming up with is that that wire isnt hooked up. I just dont want to screw anything up! Thanks!!

Here is an update, I checked the wiring at the alternator and it was smashed together and kinda melty. Also the white with black jumper from big to small alt connectors only had 1 strand of wire left lol. I re did all the wires and started it hoping for the best, nope still no voltage so I touched the green/red wire from the 3 pin connector to the cut piece and bam it ignited the alternator so here is part of the answer to what that wiring does hahaha. As far as the blue wire and the black/yellow??? anyone have time to look? Thanks for the help and hopefully this will help someone in the future!
