Ok so here we go. First off i want to thank everyone in advance for the help and great advice i have read on this forum for a few weeks now. Finally made an account. So this is my very first ford ever. So im a little new to this game. I basically got this car for nothing. 90 lx 5.0 5 speed. All i had to do was pay $156 to do an involuntary title transfer from its old owner "Long Story" and what a nightmare that was. Nothing illegal or shady btw. So i drag this thing home and within about 10 minutes i had it running from sitting in a driveway since 2006 without even being ran. Went through a few odds and ends but nothing major. You know the typical tune up kind of thing. So finally on Saturday i get a title woohoo. Everything was good to go other than it needs a new windshield which isn't a big deal. Cruised around all afternoon on what seems to be square tires which slowly turned into hexagon tires and are slowly getting better. Im not really worried they are dry cracked some and need replaced. So sunday i hop in and no start..... Crap!!! So i heard fuel pump cycle so i figured id rule that out. Pulled plug wire and held it with the help of a friend No spark.... So i did some diagnosing which basicall is pointing at the tfi sensor. And it was pretty hot out Yesterday. But!!! heres where i am stumped the pigtail on the sensor has 6 wires which you all already know. The bottom one is ground to the ecu. MY question is does it get ground from the ecu or recieve ground from the tfi module? If i plug the connector onto the sensor i have great ground. If i unplug it and probe the connector my test light is very dim. So bad ground. I pulled ecu and checked ground on same wire right after ecu and still very dim. I cleaned the ground the ground for the ecu/body and still no difference. I would assume the sensor gets ground from the ecu but i have ready so much on the tfi sensor and ecm that its to the point it just puts me to sleep lol. Maybe im overlooking something over complicating it idk at this point. Thanks again everyone for your help and sorry another thread about tfi modules.
