I recently bought a Jet performance chip for my stang and I can't get the damn thing to work. She starts, but won't hold idol... any suggestions? I called jet and they told me to clean the connection on the computer better but shes as clean as she gets... please help!!
well the chip is brand new from jet performance, i followed all instructions that came with the chip as far as removing the dielectric grease, cleaning it with alcohol and still when i plug it in the car won't hold idol and dies as soon as i take my foot off the gas? I can hear the spark plugs firing like crazy even when i turn the key onto the on position with the chip plugged in also? any suggestions??
Anything but a custom chip burned from the results of a dyno run is a waste of time and money. The mass market chips don't do much more than advance the spark timing a little. You can achiveve the same results with a timing light.
