I want Pittsburgh t win as well b/c I'll never forg0t the $hit that Merriman and LT talked about belichick and the Patriots a few years ago when the Patriots went their for a playoff game. They pretty much were over looking the patriots and brushed them off as nobody's until they came into their own home field and kicked their ass!!!

I hope Polamalu has another big game and that Ben's Brain is not scrambled to much.

I dont see Arizona making it past Carolina, I hope Philly beats down the Giants and the Baltimore Tennessee game should be very good.

b/c they will have more Super Bowls then any other team in NFL History and that trumps being a dominant team of any decade.

While a good point Im more concerned w/ the now then the past but when the Patriots are on the verge of the most SB wins of all time I'll prob be singing a different tune

Getting a wee bit testy there, aren't ya buddy?

I don't think, after the 2007 debacle, have any room to be telling anyone they acted like a moron.

Just remember, your Patriots are sitting at home watching the playoffs just like my Broncos, and my Broncos weren't coming off an undefeated regular season and Super Bowl berth.

Bronco's never came close to 11-5 and if you decimate the team w/ injuries as much as the Patriots were Id laugh to even consider them winning 3 games, they were not even over .500 this year, how sad.

Brady

Bruschi

Maroney

Thomas

Harrison

All of which are high caliber hits as far as player ability but all combined together and still come out 11-5 with an unproven QB and only 2 games short of the best team in the NFL is amazing. The bronco's were not even close to 11-5 w/ cutler, then again hes just a hack so whats it matter anyway.

If I remember correctly your the one who had to apologize for your over the top arrogant posts licking the balls of cutler b/c no one in here was going to acknowledge you anymore. I suggest you stop while you have some shred of dignity before I go back and quote your first post for everyone to read all over again.

Nobody. Just another dude that argues over topics that make no impact on my personal life whatsoever... Didn't have $hit to say is all, playoffs are just a lot more exciting. :SNSign:

Im certainly not angry. Im just not sure why you hate Peyton. Favre has been good, but was blessed to be on some of the most stacked and talented teams in the 90's. I am just assuming its because you really know in your heart that Favre isnt on the level of Manning and Brady.

Btw how did Favre do this post season?

I have no problems w/ Peyton, but I hate Eli. Both QB's have ended the Patriots season before but there's just something about eli the rubs me the wrong way

I do, Chargers. I just worked so much during regular season that I didn't really have time to read through quickly compounding pages of this thread. Just posted in off topic here and there.

Never came close? We were only 3 wins away.

I'll give you Brady, and to a lesser extent Thomas, but Harrison and Bruschi are aging shells of their former selves, while Maroney has pretty much been a bust. We lost alot more when we lost players like Champ Bailey (best corner in the game), DJ Williams (was leading NFL in tackles pre-injury), Tom Nalen, Boss Bailey and every single running back we trotted out there.

Arguing that the Patriots were more decimated by injuries is beyond absurd, even with the added importance of losing Brady.

but all combined together and still come out 11-5 with an unproven QB and only 2 games short of the best team in the NFL is amazing.
I don't think it's that amazing. This is, for the most part, the same team that went undefeated all the way up until the Super Bowl. 11-5 was good, but not amazing.

The bronco's were not even close to 11-5 w/ cutler, then again hes just a hack so whats it matter anyway.

Yep, he's a hack who is basically the consensus pick for best young QB, lead the AFC in passing and going to the Pro Bowl.

Just a hint, more people might take you serious if you brought some legitimate NFL discussion instead of your usual brand of childish, thinly veiled smack talk.

If I remember correctly your the one who had to apologize for your over the top arrogant posts licking the balls of cutler b/c no one in here was going to acknowledge you anymore.

Well you remember wrong. I didn't have to apologize for anything, but I choose to after things started to get pretty personal between some of the members here. It was simply a courtesy to maintain a semblance of peace here, and let the record show that SVTTech was kind enough to accept my apology and make peace (as did another fan IIRC) while you just ignored it. Way to be a big man there, Redline.

I suggest you stop while you have some shred of dignity before I go back and quote your first post for everyone to read all over again.

Here and there meaning 5 posts in 17 weeks of football. But if the chargers were not in it would have you posted anything at all or only felt the need to b/c they beat the colts?

By "here and there" I ment Banana Hammock, Moving Pictures and Electronica. And if Chargers lost, yes I'd still post bitching that they did as I will a week from now if they loose their next game.

I say loosing Brady pretty much killed the Pats chance at a great year. their D was not that good last few years in the sense that when your offence ios that good and makes other teams go right to passing mode by being down so far so fast it makes it easy to sit back in pass coverage and wait for the ball. But when the O isn't putting up 40 a game you gotta play a more complete game.

With that said you still got Welker and Moss. If you have a half decent QB you should do well with those guys catching the ball. But the D let teams have extended drives and plent of TOP. The D has been aging there for a few years and shame on the Pats for not having some depth on that side of the ball

So an 11-5 record was a bust for the pats???

I think they had a fantastic year..

I dont think it was a bust. It was an average year for them. As I said the D is aging and had some injuries (as all teams do at one point) but for everyone to kss their ass for going 11-5 with 'nothing to work with" is crap.
They had an ok year that was unfortunate with Brady going down. But a great year? No way.

Props to Casel for playing with the biggest shoes to fill in the NFL and playing alright. But great teams have depth. And they way everyone is putting it is that once a starter goes out, it's scrubs the rest of the way. So which is it?

A great team that can overcome adversity?

Or a team that lost its QB and some others and because they didnt loose everygame and had an average year, that the public should lower their standards so much that a team that didn't make the playoffs had a GREAT year.

The team that I thought had a GREAT year was Miami. They did change out some player personel but had the roots of the team that won one game and turned it around to have an 11-5 year AND made the playoffs.

Now I ask you. Who had a great year?

NE, ateam that went to the SB and lost THE key player and others and went 11-5 and missed the playoffs?

Or Miami who went 1-15 last year and pulled out an 11- record and at least made it to the playoffs

EDIT: I'm not a fan of either team and not hating on NE. I just think that its overhyped cause NE is a good TEAM, not an average team with a QB who can win games by himself with no help at all
