I seem to remember the NFL making up rules for Brady...

(tuck rule being manipulated)

The officials initially called the play a recovered fumble, which would have sealed the victory for the Raiders. But after instant replay, referee Walt Coleman reversed this call, declared the play an incomplete forward pass, and gave possession back to New England. In explaining the reversal to the stadium crowd and the television audience, the referee stated that the ball was moving forward at the time it was dropped.[3] However, instant replays showed that, at the moment Woodson stripped the ball from Brady, Brady had already brought the football back into his non-throwing hand, which would suggest that the "throwing motion" governed by the rule had already been completed and the play should have been ruled a fumble.

I have to agree this puts the nail in the coffin for any other team challenging the patriots for the team of the decade title.. since now not enough years remain in the decade to tie or pass the 3 SB's NE has won this decade.

the 00's = patriot decade!

I have to disagree there. If the Steelers or the Ravens win it that will put either team at 2 SB's this decade. There is still 09 to be played, and if one of them wins this year and repeats next year that would put the Ravens or Steelers at 3 this decade. It may sound unlikely but the Steelers are almost always in the hunt and the Ravens are a team on the rise.

Normally I would have been pissed about the tuck rule, but since it was the Raiders I was actually kinda happy.

WOW.........

Hey, good to know that the Giants don't believe in the "What have you done for me lately?" approach to salaries. They're about to make Eli Manning the NFL's highest paid player -- yeah, the guy who looked like a deer in the Eagles' headlights. Spies tell the N.Y. Daily News that Manning's gonna get a contract extension in the next few months and it could be worth a league-high $15 million per season. Agents think Eli will get seven or eight years worth $110 million-$120 million with $40 million in guarantees.

Including base salaries and bonuses, Roethlisberger was the highest paid player this year at $27.7 million.

Im not sure either Big Ben or Eli is worth 15-30 mil a year. Thats nuts.

But I guess good QB's dont come around every day. Heck looks at the high draft pics and its hit and miss.

Big Ben is second to only Tom Brady in winning % among all active QBs. I say he deserves it.

For argument's sake lets say it was the wrong call. But look at what the Patriots took w/ that opportunity and did with it? You cant argue that even if it was a bad call that more good came out of it then not. Does anyone here think the raiders would have had a run like this?

It was still the wrong call but it's over and like all good teams that have a call go for them, they took advantage of it. Still gotta finish the game and win ala Baltimore vs. Pittsburgh

Yeah but that is because he plays for the Steelers, if anything they have had to overcome him at times.

What does him playing for the Steelers have anything to do with it? Are you saying Brady and Manning play with no good players????

And every QB has a bad game here and there but to say the Steelers had to overcome Ben is rediculous. Guy went 15-1 his rookie year. It seems like Ben has got a bit of a rep for being this big meathead that is over rated. I think that is because his numbers are never very impressive as compared to some ohters like Brady, Brees, Manning and such. The fact is the Steelers don't nor have EVER asked their QB to have to put up 400 yrds of passing in a game cause they don't play that style of football.
All the guy has done has win consistanly since he got here. It's not always pretty like how the Pats did last year but even pretty doesn't win all the time. . .just like the Pats last year. You get the job done and hey look! AFC Championchip game sunday! And thats with the hardest schedule in the league in many many years!

He's done something right. Even a Super Bowl win in there

The Giants schedule was harder. They played 10 teams in a row with winning records including the Steelers. In fact, the NFC East schedules were brutal being they had to play each other 2x.

Just as how I think the call for the TD the steelers got VS the ravens last time was . But they took the call and got home field out of it, if the beat the ravens again this weekend then they took that call and made the most of it as well.

the field is 100 yards long, not 92

and goal line stands happen all the time in the NFL

4th and inches for the Giants at the goal line last weekend ring any bells?

This weekend if the Ravens drive 92 yards would you just want them to be able to stop on the 8 yard line and be given 6 points or would you want the Steelers to have the opportunity to stop them?
