My wife has a 1992 Mustang LX with a 2.3 and an automatic trans. She cannot drive a standard (we have tried many time to teach her). The other day the trans started leaking out from the place were the motor and trans meet. I was told it was the front pump seal. We parked the car as soon as this happened(so that no more damage would be done).
My question is: Do you have to pull the trans completely out, and are there any tricks to doing this particular type? I would lke to make this as simple as possible.

i worked on my sisters 88 when she blew the frount seal and all i did was unbolt the trany and move it back just far enough to be able to take the tourque converter off and put the new seal in then put it all back together and she was good to go till she wreaked it a month later. we have a set of ramps we run the car on that got it about 2 1/2 feet off the ground so that made it easyer to work with.
