Hey guys,
i have a 1992 Lx Mustang hatchback that i'm trying to set a ground plan for. I'm going with a flowmaster 3" cat-back system. I also want to run a 10" rim w/a 285/35 tire. Will that setup clear? I'm sure some of you guys on here must be running 10" rears on a fox. I refuse to go with dumps, and I know a 9" 265/35 will clear. So if i can't find any information on whether or not that it will clear i'll just defualt onto the 9" rim plan. Thanks for any help!

no i don't think they will. the 275/17/45 and the 2 1/2 barely fit. the 285 might work with the 285 but i would't do it. whats wrong with dumps?

Depends on the tails also I believe. Dont the 3" flowmaster tails bend differently from other brands and tend to clear a bigger tire?

I have a 10" rim, currently I have dumps and i HATE them. Tried to make my car street legal, so i will be purchasing the flowmaster 3" tubes. Yes the 3 inch system bends under the gas tank and they will clear a 10" rim with no problems.

Coupe...your car is gonna look badass with those pipes out back and the big wheels.

To the thread starter...if they rub, a little BFH here and there will do the trick!

Yes they will fit... I had them on for a bit, and tried them with the 18s and they cleared fine (285/35/18 tires).

Can you buy just those tailpipes or do you have to order the catback?

Hey,
Perfect. Thanks for all your helps guys! I plan on buying the Flowmaster complete 3" kit w/mid pipe. I dig how the flowmaster pipes look and how they are routed differently. Thanks again!

First two pics are with a stock 16" waffle star and I believe some 245/50 pr 55 16s. Then the 18x10s on the next two. The 3" clears better than the regular routed 2.5".

I just put 17x8's on the 82 GT I'm building with 275/40's with a MAC cat back with the 3 inch tailpipes and it clears with about an inch an a half of clearence. I also really like the flowmaster tail pipes.
