1993 GT Mustang Timing Question

MSD put a new pickup sensor in my distributor.

When I went to reinstall it, I put the balancer to TDC.

When I install the distributor, the rotor ends up a little before the #1 plug mark or a little after.

Is this normal? Do I just move the distributor slightly after it's seated, so that the rotor lines up?

I have Ford Racing GT-40 motor with 7000 miles on it.

Yes thats normal now just get out your timing light.
