I have a 94 ford 4.0 v6 I want to modify internal parts to output 4-5 hundred bhp and 3-4 hundred foot pounds tourqe And with a 6-8 thousand redline I know what parts I need to change and how to do it but I can't find the parts for a v6 engine everywhere I look only has v8 parts. price is not a factor for me and I was thinking about machining the parts but I want performance as well as reliability this is for a ranger not a mustang mind you but the engine is the same

Adieu

The engine isn't the same.

The 1994 4.0 from a Ranger is an overhead-valve configuration Cologne-family V6. The Mustang never had the 4.0 OHV Cologne. It used the 2.8L Cologne from 1974-1980, the 3.8L Essex from 1983-1986 and 1994-2004 (2004 also saw a 3.9L version of this engine), the 4.0 SOHC (single overhead cam) configuration Cologne engine from 2005-2010, and the 3.7L DOHC "Cyclone" engine from 2011 on.

Your engine shares virtually zero parts with any of these.

The best advice I could give would be to ditch the OHV 1994 4.0 in favor of an early 2000s SOHC 4.0 if you REALLY want to build a high-performance sixxer. There were a few supercharger and turbocharger kits for those, but you'll have to figure out wiring and tuning.

A V8 swap would be easier, cheaper, and more reliable.
