so being i have to get a new rim for the car also i was thinking since its not original anymore might as well make my car mine ... im toying with the idea of blacking out the rims but just cant picture it ... does anybody have blacked out 3 spokes like the ones in this picture ??

Ford did it. 1993 cobra r wheels are the same with a chrome pony center cap and polished wheel lip.

This is one of mine that I'm converting. It isn't exactly fun, and the hardest part is getting the black to form a circle if you polish the lip. If you get close enough you will see that it will never be perfect. It will be hardly noticeable to anyone else, but if you are anal retentive you may never be happy.

There is a picture of a set on an sn95 like yours buried in a wheel thread over at corral.net. I'll try to find it, but I can't say that I was really impressed. Color of the car makes a big difference. I typically only like black wheels on black, red, and sometimes white or silver. Other than that, I prefer silver.

Edit: found pic, Might even be your color.

Yep, you'll want a nice top next time it rains.

I'm considering those '93 cobra R wheels for my blue car. I really liked the blacked out version myself.

Fwiw, I really recommend polishing the lips. I blacked out the wheels on my 97 thunderbird years ago and you really need the contrast between the tire and the wheel.

Chrome center caps aren't necessarily required, but for mine I needed them. I scored a pristine set on eBay for 100 shipped.

Incidentally, lrs sells the entire rim set as reproductions now. If I had known I would have gone that route, it's not worth the time and effort to convert anymore, Imo.

Hey, I've heard LRS used before. Is that an older reference used for LMR?

Honestly Brian, I love your wheels, but you should black them out. Polished rims do look good.

Have you thought of the '96 taillights for your ride?

I remember when they came out with those, I couldn't help but like them.

You know, I probably just screwed that up. I still call them 5.0 resto because I've been around too long
