1994 Mustang GT 5.0 will rev above 2650, fuel pump, filter , coil replaced??

how many miles is it possible the cats might be plugged. I had this happen to me once before if you unhook the h-pipe and see if it revs over 2600 with just open headers. that would tell you if its the cats if not possibly the infamous distributor.

The computer code all were lean all cylinders, change fuel pump filter, still have the same probelm, Plugs are burning great, idle good . spout connector connected

PIP or Hall Effect whatever you wanna call it in the distributor is probably f'd

still have the same problem, with the engine is either cold or hot will, the engine will rev above 2650 in neurtral, tryed the changing external ignition control module, with no luck. the funny part is this car run great idle great, it has five speed trans, the code that were removed were all all cylinder lean,

Yeah i would check the TFI or PIP.....Or even check if you have a pinched fuel line....ive seen people use a jack and smash a fuel line. Only way to tell if it is really not getting the right fuel pressure is to attach a gauge to the port on the fuel rail. I wouldn't change a pump based on what a computer says. (call me old school) Check the wires....pull a couple of plugs.

Oh and check the timing!!! WITH THE SPOUT CONNECTOR OUT

Found the probelms

Found the MAF sensor was dirty and the wires were loose, runs geat thanks

+1 for PIP sensor in the distributor, go to NAPA and get a new one and swap it out.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier, I could've helped you instantly! My car had the same exact problem when it was first purchased, and ran like a dream after it was cleaned. Glad you got it worked out though!
