What up everyone? Need some help here. The tranny in my 95 GT is about ready to give out on top of that the clutch is bad too. I been talking to local shops around here and they have all been saying about the say thing. About 500 to take the tranny out and another 500 to 1000 or more in parts to rebuild it.

I have been searching around on the internet and was looking at some transmissions made by Tremec and found a couple on ebay.

Here is the new link.

I just wanted to make sure this would work in my car and ask you guys if there were other transmissions that were better, what kind of clutch kit, bearings, etc i should get, should i get a new fly wheel, shifters etc. Also, does anyone know of anyone with a tremec in their 94 / 95 GT? All comments / suggestions are appreaciated. Thanks.

to save you 500 or so dollars, you should probly take the trans out. its really not that hard. its mostly just unbolting stuff. Doing a clutch isn't that hard either. you'll never know if you could do it till you try it. the more you do the more you learn the better you are.

as for the link it didn't work for me.

What is your setup right now? Are you stock or modified???? If so, what.

Unless you are blown/turbo'ed, I wouldn't mess with an aftermarket transmission. It's a lot of hassle for a stock car.

And the transmission is a piece of cake to get out. Getting it back in requires a little more finesse but nothing unattainable by 2 people with a socket set and really long extensions.

The clutch is the same way, easy to do. Flywheel should be replaced or resurfaced. If there are no apparent heat cracksand there plenty of surface area left, i would resurface it. New ones can be had from autozone for somewhere around $60+. Usually have to be shipped from there wherehouse and so there is a day wait.

Would 2 sockets and a really long extension count?

LOL, J/K man. But I agree here. Rebuild the T-5 if you don't have extensive mods. And definitely try to remove it/reinstall it yourself to save $$$.

I agree, 500 bucks to take out the tranny is rape, its so freaking easy to do it yourself. I need to rebuild mine too but im thinking about just buying the kit and trying it myself.
