i done the swap in my car ( price reasons ). i heard the cobra t5s have phosphate coating on the gears. not sure if this is true. dimensionally, i believe they are identical.
I believe it was intended to increase the power handling capability. Not sure how it would though? It's still the same gearset as the standard WC T5, but have a phosphate coating, so the properties of the aluminum didn't change any.
so the gears are coated, i thought the syncrhos were coated? which is why i was always wondering wth do cobra owners do as i havent seen a rebuild kit specific to the cobra t5, heh
I found this online, because I am going with a Cobra T-5 that I picked up for 500 bucks, it gave me the info that i was looking for i.e torque ratings and such.
