I have a strong running 1995 GT convertable. It is a 5 speed car.
I wrecked that car (icy roads) a few years ago.

I have the EEC-IV (A9L tag) computer from a 1990 GT 5 speed car.

I plan to put the 1995 drivetrain into a 1989 notch. this car has no harness or electronics of any kind.

If I purchase the M-12071-C302 wiring harness from Ford racing, what needs to be done to make my 1995 EEC-V engine run with the EEC-IV box?

Will the 1995 engine harness work?
Will the 1995 sensors work?
will the 1995 injectors, etc work?

I'm no stranger to changing some connectors, or rewiring things. I've just never worked on the EEC-V cars, just driven this one.

Thanks in advance!

The 95 sensors and injectors should be a direct swap. Reports that I have heard say that the 95 engine mounted fuel injector harness is not compatible.

Here's a helpful web site to check for wiring information...

1995 is also EEC-IV, but the harness is a bit different due to things like electronic transmission and fan controls.

1995 fords are both OBDII and OBDI. If you look under the dash you will find a OBDII port, but the engine codes are pulled from the EEC test port in the engine bay near where the fuel lines come through. I just went through this on a 95GT...

The OBD II port on a 95 is non-functional if it's a V8 car. Only the V6 models were OBD II, otherwise, it uses the same EEC test port under the hood on the GT/Cobra.

Thanks for your help and the links to the wiring diagrams guys!

When looking through some of my Ford parts I found an injector harness on one of my intakes. It's an older 86-88 one, but it's in good shape.

I will try to set up the 1995 engine and sensors with that 86-88 injector harness, the M-12071-C302 main harness and the 1990 (A9L) computer.

Does that sound like a workable setup to you guys? Any big hurdles I should consider for that setup?
