I recently bought a 1996 Cobra Convertible with only 22K miles on it. I would like to install a cold air intake but have no idea which one to get. Can anyone please give me some suggestions.

Thanks very much

There's quite a few CAI manufacturers out there to choose from, such as: C&L, Tunable Induction (formerly Densecharger), JLT, K&N, Ebay stuff, homemade versions, and plenty of other misc brands out there on the market. Browse through some of the vendors' webpages and see which one fits your budget/needs.

I have a JLT on mine, pretty good quality and a good fit, it goes way down deep under the fender though so watch out for water more than about 4 inches deep, I went through some water that was about that deep when a flash flood hit and I ruined a good cobra motor, luckily it was covered under comprehensive insurance so I got a newer motor out of it, took them over a month to find one and put it in though

You really arent going to gain anything but looks under the hood by buying a CAI for the 96-98 Cobra's. Just remove the air silencer and put a K&N cone in the stock location and you'll be fine. Really no power to gain there.

I use to live in huntsville alabama where C&L was first born. believe it or not the guy that started that shop started out making a joy stick for a game station. I cant remember which it was lol. then went on to make performance parts for mustangs and I think he had the the record for fastest EFI mustang in US or something like that at one point. anyway Ive always bought my cold air kits from C&L and tested the HP gains at the track and on his on site dyno he had on site and noticed around 10Hp gains as claimed.normally he use to install the kit for free if you live in huntsville or drive there but since im shure you wouldnt be driving it he has instructions in the kit that pretty user friendly. with pictures and such. or atleast last few times I bought from him there was.

I have a 97 cobra vert. just installed a jlt ram air intake on it last night
