Well I'm in the process of changing motors and was wondering what all I would need to drop in a 1996 Exploder motor into my 95. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The long blocks should be interchangeable, everything else you can swap from your old motor. I'd use the Explorer intake as well if your old one is stock.

96 did not have the GT40P setup though, I believe it was mid year 97 when the GT40P headed 5.0 made it into the explorers.

No, they aren't *bad*, but if you've already got the AFR's, of course put them on, along with a lot of the other mods. Don't know if you have a cam or not, but it would be the ideal time to do it!!! Along with cleaning up the whole engine bay etc. etc. do everything you would want to do when the motor's out. Check out Oink's process, it looks and performs SWEET. Also, while you have the explorer motor there, why not go with a 331? All depends on money i guess. Shoot, i'm stuck with my dremel that i got for christmas last year! It'll be fun to see what numbers i get with my main mod being a tool!
