A good friend passed away and his wife wants to sell his 1998 MustANG GT CONVERTIBLE.I am not familiar with this year and only the logo on the front fender is 4.6 No GT. It currently has 65K miles on it ad garage kept. What can you tell me about this model and engine? I thought all that year was a 5.0. Thanks in advance.

You and I are [not] part of the crowd that bought a Mustang for reasons other than warp speed.

96-98 GT convertible would probably be a $5-7K car with that mileage depending on how clean it is, and if it's an automatic or manual.

Need more info other than mileage to truely assess. But sight unseen i'd list it for $8K and expect to have to bring it down or get lower offers.

I will have to admit though, a 96-98 GT convertible, especially if automatic, is not high up on the desirability list for a lot of Mustang enthusiasts.

1998 GT's 4.6L was rated at 225HP/290 TQ.
