Hey all,

My girlfriends 1998 GT is just about done in the body shop. It got a new Cobra hood and a Cobra bumper. The body shop just called and said the cobra fog light brackets don't fit in the spot where the GT brackets mounted to. Is there a trick to get them to work or an fabrication necessary? Has anyone does this that can shed some light? Any help is much appreciated.

yea only 2 holes line up. Did this with mine. If your talking about changing to cobra lights just tell them to keep the lights in the car. Go to the hardware store and some bolts. You will have to guess and try till you get it right. Thats what I had to do but I can't remember the size i got. If I figure it out ill pm u

GT fogs will not work with a Cobra bumper. Cobra's are round Gt are rectangular shaped. You will need to buy new lights.

I just saw that you have Cobra lights. never mind.

I already have the cobra lights. The body shop people apparantly can't figure out how to mount the Cobra brackets where the GT brackets were. I might just have to go down there myself and do it.

Thanks for your help. Yeah I might either go down to the body shop now and figure it out or just tell them to put the bumper on with out the lights and I'll do it this weekend.

Thanks... no no. What had happened was the girlfriends car was involved in a hit and run. The Car is Laser Red and the body was going to have to paint half the car anyways to blend in the new paint so we figured just repaint the whole car and we will pay the difference. While we were painting the whole car we just decided on the new hood and bumper then I got her 03-04 Folding cobra mirrors as well but that's it. GT badges will remain...I don't want to be a poser cobra just a GT with a more aggressive front end. Oh yeah we also changed the color of the car a little bit...went from Laser Red to Redfire. It's already painted but they are putting it back to together right now. I'm leaving work in a few minutes and I'm heading down to the body shop to see what the issue is with the fog lights. I'll let you guys know and I'll post up pics of the car when I get it back.

So just I stopped by the body shop a couple hours ago and took some pics. The car still missing the side skirts, minor paint touch ups, buffing and clean up but these pics will give you a good idea of what it will look like when it's done. Oh and they did get the fog lights put on.

Re-installing rim. The body damage was on the rear right quarter panel, insurance also refinished scratched rim.

Cobra mirrors installed. They over hang a little since they body contour on the 94-98 is different than that of the 99-04 but it doesn't bother me. If the girlfriend doesn't like it maybe I'll trim the edge down a bit...any suggestions....comments?
