Anyone know where I can find a diagram or something to show me what I need what I need to know as far as wiring goes? Im trying to remove both decks in my 98 and install and aftermarket deck. (The radio and the cd player are seperate) And there is 2 huge wiring harnesses in the back. I need to figure out what wires are which and the manual does not show you any of this...please help! :bang:

You should be able to go to a car audio store, or maybe even wal-mart and get a wireing harness connector for around 10 bucks. No cutting or spliceing that way, and you should also be able to get something, either a black panel or a cubby hole to fill the extra space (should come with a mounting kit) I have used the kits before from walmart on several other vehicles, and they seem to work pretty good.

One of the connectors on the main AM/FM/Cassette deck is just a jumper to the CD player..You should be able to just trace that wire..Thats the one you dont use. The new harness you get will mount up the power wires but you will need to get a Scosche or other brand high level to low level converter if you are going to use the factory speakers.

ok will look into that as well. Thanks!
Goto any electronic store (ie Best Buy, Circuit City) goto the car audio department. Tell the guy on the floor to ask one of the installers to get you a wiring harness for (whatever year) mustang that allows you to use the amps. There is two differant harnesses. One that allows use of factory amps and one that doesn't. I found out the hard way. I also left in my Tuner/tape player. It looks like I still have the factory stereo. The install is simple as long as you have the correct tool to remove the stereo. It's shaped like a U and has to little balls at the end. You can pick that up there as well or at most auto part stores. I did a write up on the install a long time ago but can't find the thread since they made the search results no more than 50 of the most recent. :nonono:

Yeah so I should be ok just going to wal-mart or somewhere to buy the harness then correct?
I don't goto WallyWorld so I don't know what they have. Some people here seem to have had luck there though. I myself would goto a an electronics store or stereo install shop for the harness.
