I'm looking to sell my 1998 Gt with 48k on it. There are light mods on it including steeda u/d, flowmaster 2 chambers, k&n and a kenwood head-unit on the stock mach 460. The car is a coupe, is in good shape, and has every option from the factory. I've been looking at Kelly Blue book and went to car max for a quote, but I value the input of mustang folks to help me out on this one. I have little knowlege of what the market currently is for these cars so any info would be appreciated.

What did carmax offer you?

Was it close to bluebook?

I would check Autotrader.com and see what comparable Mustangs are selling for. Most of them won't have the mileage yours does, cause approximately 8K miles a year is low, which should add about $500 or so to the value.

$6,775 trade in
$8,700 private party
$11,155 retail

Car Max offered $7500, but said nothing about a mileage adjustment, so I will definitely look into that one. The bad thing is they'll turn around and put it up for 12,000.

You can also look on eBay to see what other cars simular to yours have sold for.

I'd say around the $8995 area if you were to sell it outright.
