I had it stored for the last few months and now when I try to start it, it won't turn over. The battery is fine and I can smell a little gas, but it just won't turn over. What else can I do to get it started? It only has 15,000 miles on it so I'm pretty sure it's mechanically sound.

If you turn the headlights on before trying to crank the engine, do they become noticably dimmer when you turn the key to the start position? The battery and battery connections would be #1 and #2 on my list of most likely causes.

Will it turn over if you press the throttle, but not at idle? If so, it's your idle air control valve. You'll need to replace it, it's about $120 from Ford or you could get it from Fordpartsnetwork.com for a bit cheaper.

OK, I'm back. It turns out the battery was bad and I just replaced it, but the car still won't start. I do smell gas in the engine compartment, so the fuel pump should be OK. When I crank it, it just doesn't seem to even want to start.
