Went over to national trail raceway today. i had an awesome time! but had no clue what i was doing...just having fun. i felt like there were waaaay too many imports there though...anyways my first run was

R/T 1.412 <---
60 2.444
330 6.484
1/8 9.651
MPH 78.37
1000 12.372
1/4 14.659
MPH 98.01

i really really really suck at driving. i revved to about 3K rpm and well dropped the clutch and just sat there and spun on my bald street tires. i mightve let off before the end though not too sure..

second run

R/T .194
60 2.029
330 6.708
1/8 10.057
MPH 75.41
1000 12.884
1/4 15.227
MPH 96.82

this time i only revved to about 2000-2500 rpm and kinda let the clutch out easier. im sad to say i missed the 1-2 shift and that sucked. i really think i got a good start that time and kinda blew it. again mighta let off too early...oh well always another time, next time i wont be so jittery with nervousness/excitement and maybe i'll do better? it was ALOT of fun even though i only got 2 passes in...but how are those times for my car?

That is better than me, considering I haven't ever been to the track. At least you had fun. That is all that matters....

thanks guys. someone told me that for every .1 you cut outta your 60ft that (roughly) brings your 1/4 et down about .2? is this true? cause on my second run i had a 60 of 2.0, would my 1/4 have been down in the high 13s had i not missed my shift?

Thats a nice MPH, you can get into the 13's with that. Street tires with gears is a bad thing, nevermind bald street tires. 2.0 60 ft is very good on street tires though. You shouldnt consider yourself such a bad driver if you can pull 2.0s on street tires. Ill bet on a 13.7-13.8 with that 2.0 60

How much is it to get in there and about how long were the waits? I would like to try and hit that track up in the fall when I bring my car out to school but not if the test n tune nights have long lines of 10 sec cars.

ehhh yeah the lines were pretty long. they were letting all the nhra dragsters and alot of bikes go (which i understand...i mean let the guys who are serious go before you let a minivan run down the track) and then they'd let a group of street cars run down. i got there around 1 or so and watched for awhile before i got inline. i made my first run at 3:51 and my 2nd at 4:48...so about an hour of waiting for just one run. i dunno if they are having another TnT night or not? they had waaaaaay more people then they expected

Ok, that's not bad since that's about what I'd see at QCR. I was just wondering how packed it was because I looked at their schedule once and only saw like two TnT nights. I bet the track prep is great though, especially after the top fuel meet.
