hi
has anyone ever done a true dyno comparison with aftermarket exhaust ( cat backs ) eg. mac, flowmaster, dynomax, 2.25 vs. 2.5 inch? how much of a difference is there?

I would like to know also..and is there a sound difference to?

It is totally case specific. On a bone stocker, the 2.25" (stock size) will offer more low end torque, while the bigger 2.5" will (sometimes) give more high rpm HP, depending on the mufflers. Same deal with headers, the restrictive 1.5" ones are torquier on a stock 5.0 then good quality 1&5/8" will be. Once you start getting into bolt ons, that can change, but how much good it really does is entirely situational. Pretty much the only thing you can count on when adding a catback system is that it will sound faster. Anything more depends on what else you do and how well you choose your parts. Getting the right exhaust foor your combo determines whether or not it will do anything for you.

2.5 will give you a little bit deeper and mellower sound, but probably not by too much.

I have a 2 1/4 off road h..that was costum made. I wanted to switch to 2 1/2 but wanted to know if it was worth spending money on that? what do you guys think.
