2.3 NA Bolt ons?

I have a completely stock 2.3 that I need some advice on. I'm not looking to make a super track car by no means. but i want to be able to pull up next to a dohc neon and not be embarrassed! any power add ons that I can buy? heads, intake, headers, stuff like that. i dont want to have to take the engine out and rebuild it or anything. just the stuff i can access with the hood up or from underneath. any help?

This is hard to do. Nitrous is all I can suggest.

Most of the big power na 2.3 motors, are carbed, and in mini stocks, and run to 7k rpms. Not a streetable combo.

I raced my brother's 92 hp Escort LX in my old '90 LX, which at the time had a cat-back, header, 3.73 rear gears, cold air intake, shifter, had a bunch of sound deadener removed, I dunno what else...may have even had underdrive pulleys on it at the time. Regardless, his car was bone stock and he beat me...hell it wasn't even that close.

2312 lbs w/ 88 hp > 3000 lbs w/ 88 hp

don't get started on the GT escorts w/ a whopping 127 hp.

dude, its not worth it. CAI, gears, exhaust and free mods for N/A Mustangs. if you dont wanna be embarressed by a DOHC neon, im afraid the only way not to be is to do a swap. then you'll waste him!

I have a DOHC neon and i'll embarrass stock 5.0's it kinda makes me sad my neon would destroy my stang.
