2.3L Automatic Shifting problem

I'm not sure if anyone can help. I have a 90 2.3L LX and I find that when I first take off it wants to go into about 3500 to 4000 rpms before shifting down. I find it annoying if I'm going up hill and want some acceleration. Yes I have it toped with transmission fluid. Any suggestions?

the modulator valve is going bad.

I replaced the modulater vavle and mine still does like his

i believe the a4ld is bad ...period

a4ld is the tranny that a 4banger usually got/use. The whole thing..

Woodster drives a metro don't believe him....actually yeah n/m do believe him the A4LD does suck....that is the name of the automatic trasmission that came with your(and my) car

Ya I then noticed a leak coming from my transmission. I was told its a Servo?? Is that correct

Well after discovering that there was a Servo seal leak and after spending a mear buck for the seal I discovered Tranny fluid in my vacuum lines up front , I now ordered a modulator valve . When I first start my car up it has a hard time down shifting until I have it warmed up for a bit. After my cars warm it shifts pretty good. So I assume my modulator valve is bad. Heh its only 30 bucks from the dealer so its worth a shot.

if you have transmission fluid in your vacuum lines then the modulator is most definetly bad.

your car suffers from A4LD disease...

thank god I only rebuilt mine 4 times before switching to a T5... those things get expensive quickly...
