Sup yall, I was just in an argument with an old fart ( by which I mean one that stays drunk and believes anything you have I had one better and rarer) anywho the argument was about the turbo mustangs...... what was the last year that Ford produced a 4cyl turbo and was it a GT car? ( to my knowledge all GT's were 302 or 5.0 roller) thanks for the help.

last year they made it was in 1988.. and it was in a t-bird turbocoupe/cougar

The last year of the Turbo GT was in 1985 if I'm not wrong..

last year for a turbo in gt's was 84 and last year for turbos in a stang was 86 in the svo's

Actually, all of that is correct, except that they had an 89 Merkur as well...

the 302 and 5.0 are the same engine (save for updates over the years) just in 85 it got a roller cam...

they made turbo GT's in 83 and 84 1/2 (GT350 Anniversary cars), the SVO till 86, turbo coupe through 88 and merkur XR4-Ti till 89

dont forget about the 2bbl carbed turbo 4 from 79-82!! i had one! haha

Mustang's
83-84 Gt turbo mustang's
84 20th anny car's
84-86 svo
79-82 (yes 82, the crazy canadian's had the carbed 2.3t car's up till 82)

And then the Thunderbird's, Cougar's, Capri RS turbo's, Fairmont's, Zephyr's, and last but not least the Merkur's.

hell ya carbed 2.3 turbos are the ****nit. lol they are a blast though beter then N/A because about 50 more HP stock and if modded. lots of power, i mean not as much as EFI but the carbed 2.3 T are gettin real rare.
